MSMA Launches ICE Emergency Hotline
Trump’s attacks on immigrant communities have begun and Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid is prepared to fight back! His executive orders are already causing chaos and suffering, and we are still hearing reports about upcoming immigration raids across the country including within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
MSMA has launched an ICE Emergency Hotline, which became operational starting yesterday, January 20th! The phone number is 202-335-1183. If you see ICE activity in the DC area or know someone detained by them, call our emergency hotline. Or one of the other emergency hotlines in the area.
What is the MSMA ICE Emergency Hotline? Our trained volunteers are ready to answer phone calls from anyone who sees ICE agents in their neighborhoods, schools, churches, hospitals, shops, anywhere! We collect that information and share it with our immigrant community so they can avoid the area and stay safe. We will be posting reports of ICE enforcement on our social media channels, and will provide resources to people that call our hotline looking for support.
If you or someone you love is looking to prepare for a potential run-in with ICE agents, we’ve got info for you too. Volunteers can share links to Know Your Rights info from our trusted immigration partners. If you or someone you love has been detained, we’ve got resources to help with that too.
What can you do to help? First, share this our hotline phone number (202) 335-1183 with everyone you know! Anyone who sees ICE activity anywhere should let us know so we can warn vulnerable populations.
Second, print out flyers and palm cards and post them up at your local coffee shop, grocery store, gym, church, post on your social media accounts or simply hand them out to impacted family and friends.
Third, consider making a donation to MSMA. While our volunteers work for free, our phone line is costly. Help us continue to track ICE activity, protect our vulnerable community members, and support our neighbors.
Mutual aid is here to support our community in times of need. We're staying firm in our support, providing resources, solidarity, and strength to those who need it most. No one fights alone!
